Coney Island
Description
Coney Island houses a wide variety of habitats, including coastal forests, grasslands, mangroves, and casuarina woodlands. It is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora, some of which are critically endangered.
It has a beach on one side and tall Casuarina trees. Coney Island is itself 2-3 km walk You can walk along the beach or follow the trails in the Island. There are multiple routes you can follow depending upon how long you want to walk/hike Park is open only from 7am to 7pm daily so need to plan your walk that way.
Also it is linked to Park connectors (Punggol & Pasir ris)
Tips
Where to park :
- West Entrance Car Park. More popular with the amenities and restaurant nearby.
- East Entrance by the road side.
Washroom Location :
- At the entrance of the West gate.
Best Spots to Take Pictures :
- ● At the entrance gate.
- ● At the beach at sunrise or sunset.
- ● At the Punggol waterway bridge along the canal opposite to Coney island.
- ● On the island around a bunch of tall trees.
Best Routes to Follow :
Many routes:
you can start from West Gate along the beach or via trails on the island, reach to the east end and then come back via island park trail. This will be around 3 km walk.
If you want to do long walk, you can enter from west gate, exit from east gate and then talk Lorong Halus Connector to Halus Wetlands which is newly opened attraction. You can rest here, take a break for your tea and breakfast before heading back to the west end via Punggol waterway Connector. You will pass via red bridge across the lake and then a very green patch of trail while walking back to west gate. There is road side car park along Halus Wetlands.
This is our favorite route and recommended.
- ● You can start from the east gate as well and hike the above path in reverse direction
- ● You can also start from Punngol Promenade Nature Park and reach east or west end. There is car park there as well.
Best Spot to relax(tea/snacks) :
● Along the beach.
● Towards the west end there are steps to sit on.
● Few shelters on the islands.
● Halus Wetland rest area.
● Lorong Halus Bridge along Punggol waterways.
● Sunrise bridge.
Best nearby place to have breakfast :
West end has few eateries of different cuisine.
Any other tips :
- If you are looking to cycle, use goCycle which is located at west gate.
Other Special Info :
You can do a day picnic with family and friends in the arms of the nature surrounded by trees and water.
There is one Indian restaurant called “Tandoor Lounge” at Punggol front (500m away at The Punggol Settlement, Singapore 828617), where you can enjoy Indian food with a sea view.

We enjoyed every bit of it.
It was very surprising to see green and breezy trail of punngol waterways. It compliments Coney Island and provided everything for every person.
