East Coast Park[Trail along the Beach (Let the waves hit your feet and the sand be your seat)]
Description
ECP is a long stretch of walkway of about 17 to 20 km from Changi Jurassic Mile to Marina Barrage or Gardens by the Bay.
You can do this in 2-3 outings like what we did -
Round 1 - McDonald’s Marina Cove to Marina Barrage.
Round 2 - McDonald’s Marina Cove to National Sailing Center [ECP Car Park G].
Round 3 - National Sailing Center to Changi Jurassic Mile [Changi Terminal 4].
If you are driving, then each round will be about 10 km to and fro. Witness the majestic sunrise along the beach. You can start early to get a glimpse of the mesmerizing sunrise around 6.30am. Also, you will be able to take spectacular pictures of the planes arriving in Singapore.
Tips
where to park :
- Round 1 : Marina Cove Car Park.
- Round 2 : Marina Cove Car Park.
- Round 3 : ECP Car Park G.
Washroom Location -
You need not worry every few km, there are public toilets along the way for your convenience.
Best Spots To Take Pictures -
Along the way, you can capture vivid shades of the sunrise from the break of dawn to the
setting of the sun.
You can capture pictures and the videos of the planes as they
land in Singapore.
You can take pictures of the containers and ships which are docked
a few km away from the SG shore.
Best Route To Follow -
As per your preference. You can start from Marina Barrage —> ECP —> Jurassic Mile
Or from ECP to Marina Barrage or Jurassic Mile or you can start from Jurassic Mile →ECP -> Marina BarrageMarina Barrage
This is also a popular cycle route and you can rent cycles from the GoCycle Shop at ECP, Marina Cove or at Jurassic Mile. You can visit www.gocycling.sg for more details. You can also do camping at the beach by bringing your own tent or renting out from the commercial vendor.
Best Spot To Relax (Tea/Snacks):
You have ample of options. There are benches all along the beach placed for your whim. Also every few km, there is a sitting area made up of stones [not sure what it is called] close to the beach.
Best nearby place to have breakfast
McDonald’s at Marina Cove is a very popular spot which is always crowded.
Coffee Bean is next to it which is available 24 by 7.
You can have western breakfast at Old Town White Coffee at Coastal Playgrove like we did. You can sit outside and enjoy the view.
At Marina Barrage, you can try Satay by the Bay.
There are restaurants along the beach but few may be open in the morning. We highly recommend Sugarcane juice at East Coast Lagoon Food Village. The kind shopkeeper added himalayan black salt in the juice to make it more tasty.
Any other tips -
Carry an umbrella for the rainy days. One of our outings had heavy rain but we did continue our walk and it was one of the most memorable experiences. So don't shy away even if it rains. Because these memories will be etched in your heart forever.
Other Special Info -
Aloha Sea Sports Center near Food Village offers adventurous sea activities like wind surfing, etc. Do experience these amazing activities.

Rating 4/5
We enjoyed a long stretch of the ECP walk which we covered in 3 rounds during different months. Even though everytime the experience was different it was wonderful . Of the round, we started from home at 04:00 am and we were at the beach at 4:30 am. Overall it was a unique experience.
What we liked or do not -
We enjoyed every bit of it.
Our absolute favorite was the walk from Marina Cove to Marina Barrage as it is rich in greenery and a quieter patch.
They are very crowded spots in-between like at Marina Cove or near Food Village but that is barely an obstacle for such an amazing place.
