Description
Fort Canning Park is an iconic hilltop landmark that has witnessed many of Singapore’s historical milestones. The hill once sited the palaces of 14th century Kings and served as the Headquarters of the Far East Command Center and British Army Barracks. Fort Canning Park features nine historical gardens - the Pancur Larangan, Artisan’s Garden, Sang Nila Utama Garden, Jubilee Park (Phase 1), Raffles Garden, First Botanic Garden, Farquhar Garden, Spice Garden and Armenian Street Park.
It is iconic not only because of its historic heritage but also due to the majestic and mesmerizing views it presents. Be ready to blow your mind away with the “Oh so perfect” views and surroundings.
How to reach there:
1. Via Fort Canning or Bras Basah MRT. Use the covered escalators to reach the top where the park is located.
2. Walk from City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut and Clarke Quay MRT stations.
Where to park:
Parking is available at Car Parks A, B and C located near National Museum Of Singapore Jubilee Park Car Park opposite Clarke Quay.
Washroom locations:
1. Top of the hill at Fort Canning Green.
2. Sang Nila Utama Garden.
Best spots to take pictures -
All the 9 gardens inside Fort Canning Park offer many unique views to click pictures. Our personal favorite is Sang Nila Utama Garden which replicates beautiful Bali. Raffles Garden consists of a majestic tower and a fountain, making it the perfect place to capture the scenic view. There is lush greenery at Fort Canning Green as well as Jubilee Park which offers a fantastic background for snapping pictures.
Clicking a picture against the background of the Cannon or Fort Gate will also prove to be memorable and unique. Here are some glimpses of the same:
Best route to follow :
Multiple routes and trails are available. There are trails on each level of the hill. At each level or height, you will find unique themed gardens.
You can enter the park from the main Fort canning Green, from Jubilee Park or from ROM Building. Make sure to be alert of your surroundings while walking on the trails.
Best Spot to relax (tea/snacks)

There are several places you can take a quick break at. Our favorite is Sang Nila Utama Garden which has a shelter area with garden ponds. It is a blissful and peaceful place covered in nature to sip your tea and snacks as well as relax. This place is suitable for a wholesome family picnic as well. Another such place is Jubilee Park. It is an excellent place where kids can play and relax in the vicinity of lush greenery. At the top of the hill, there are also many benches to relax. You can even enjoy the swings situated in the playground area. Also, there is a place where you can exercise by taking part in yoga, zumba, etc.

1. Tiong Bahru Bakery @ Jubilee Park
2. Restaurants at the top of Fort Canning Park
3. Opposite Jubilee Park, restaurants at Clarke Quay

Easy to get lost with multiple trials and multiple entry and exit points, so study the map thoroughly before you come here.

Fort Canning Park offers something for everyone. It has historical significance, nature, peace, and many picnic spots. Tourists who wish to be in the vicinity of greenery can stay at Fort Canning Hotel which is located inside the park. There is a playground at Jubilee park for the kids. For jogging and for intensive exercise, you can make rounds up and down the hills using the stairs. You will definitely burn calories, sweat and stress while strolling here. It is definitely a must-visit, and is high on our recommendation list
