Lower Peirce Reservoir Park is located next to The Lower Peirce Reservoir, Singapore's second-oldest reservoir. The forest around the reservoir is surrounded by numerous rubber trees and oil palms – visible reminders of a past when vast areas of Singapore were covered with plantations. Even though it is small in size, it is quite remarkable.The beauty that it offers is unparalleled. There are about 3 entrances to Lower Peirce Reservoir via
1) Lower Peirce Reservoir Park
2) Casuarina Entrance
3) Jacaranda Entrance.


The path is well paved. Despite being compact in size compared to other parks it is a well developed area. You can wear comfortable clothes according to the weather.In case it’s raining, beware of the wet floor.This place is suitable for all age groups to relax and be surrounded by nature.

Tips

How to reach there:

Follow the direction of Upper Thomson Road. Turn left before the traffic lights at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 into Old Upper Thomson Road. Follow the road until you see the entrance of the trail. Parking facilities are available along the road near the Casuarina Entrance.

Bus nos. 163, 167, 169, 855, 980. Alight at the bus stop nearest to the Sembawang Hill Food Court and walk along Old Upper Thomson Road towards Lower Peirce Boardwalk. The entrance to the trail (Casuarina Entrance) is about five minutes away.

Reservoir from distinct angles gives you scope to capture the natural beauty.

Best route to follow -

Visit the Lower Peirce Trail running through the forest and along the edge of this reservoir.Along this charming 900-meter boardwalk, you’ll be greeted by captivating views of regenerating secondary forests that line the reservoir as well as a variety of flora and fauna.

You can either start from one of the trail entries located at Old Upper Thomson road. Go all the way to the reservoir and loop back. This will be about 4 km. Here is the route map given below for your knowledge :

Second option: Start from the Bishan end of the Ang Mo Kio park and walk towards Thomson road.Follow the signage towards lower pierce reservoir park and enter the trails mentioned above, go to the reservoir and back to Ang Mo Kio Park. This will cover about 10 km depending upon where you start from and loops you make in the trail.

Best Spot to relax -

Ample of benches are available along the reservoir.You can also safely sit on the concrete curb along the reservoir which allows you to enjoy the scenic view. Apart from that there are plenty of sheltered spaces to relax and enjoy your tea/snacks in case it rains. If you choose to relax in the sheltered area even in sun it proves to be a decent place to relax.

Casuarina Curry house serves yummy delicacies that will surely make your tummy happy.

Any other tips -

Help protect this precious patch of forest and its inhabitants by staying on the boardwalks. Staying on the boardwalks will prevent disturbance to the native flora and fauna.

Carry an umbrella in case the weather is cloudy.
