Description
Rowers Bay Park is one of the latest additions of parks in Singapore’s natural landscape. It is a place where you can enjoy mesmerizing panoramic views of the surroundings. We have witnessed the muddy shore of Lower Selator reservoir being leisurely developed into a thin and long stretch of luscious green landmark garden. Right next to Yishun Dam, several fishing lovers are searching for a better place to relax and take in the crisp air while fishing, in contrast to a raw concrete dam. If you are overwhelmed by the hustle bustle of the city, visit Rowers Bay Park to rejuvenate your mind and soul.
This is also the Northern part of Round Island Route (RIR), planned to stretch 150 KM of the PCN Cycling route.
Even though it's not a long stretch for walkers, it is marvelous for a Sunset view and a comfortable family stroll along the glistening water in the presence of flora & fauna. Water plants planted along it are natural habitats of the place creating a thin wetland for snails, frogs and small fishes. It is a hidden park and among the ‘Not so popular’ spots, so do pay it a visit to discover its wonders.
Where to park :
The designated Carpark is just opposite Yishun dam, near the PUB pump area. However, parking is allowed along the side road as well, but it is limited so it is recommended to park at the designated Car Park instead.
Washroom locations :
The washroom is right at the end of Yishun Dam at the start of Rowers Bay Park. 30 - 40 meters away from the washrooms, there is a shed with drinking water available.
Best spots to relax::
The wooden platform extensions along the water are a good place to get grounded, relax and calm your mind. Carry a thin mattress or tarp and make sure there are no ants around when you place it. You can place it wherever your heart pleases, but beware of the ants and small insects.
The area around the drinking water shed is also a comfortable place to halt, where you can consider a family picnic in front of the waterfront.
