Tips
where to park :
Being in the Northwestern extreme end of Singapore, this place is never crowded and parking is usually available throughout the day. There are 2 public Car Parks at the entrances, both located relatively close to each other.
Car Park 1: Visitor Center: 60 Kranji Way, #01-00, Singapore 739453 (Preferred).
Car Park 2: 301 Neo Tiew Crescent Singapore 718925.
Opening hours:
7 am to 7 pm daily (entering or remaining in the nature reserve after 7pm is not allowed), Last entry: 6.30pm
Washroom Location -
Just after the Visitor Centre, turn right to reach the Toilets which are located in the colonial style buildings.
Best spots to take pictures -
Each spot is beautiful and picturesque. The special Pods along with the trails are a must visit to click pictures and enjoy the beautiful views. They are located in specific locations along the coast such as in void decks inside water, towers at the edge etc.
Look out for these specific locations for the best snaps to add to your collection:
The bridges across Buloh Besar River are also amongst other sweet spots to see aquatic animals and mud-loving creatures.
Best route to follow -
We recommend the Redline route as it is easy to follow and covers most of the nature reserve. Although there are many small diversions along the way, ultimately, the trails converge into the same directional route across the reserve.
Best spot to relax (tea/snacks)
There are many spots to relax across the nature reserve. There are benches along the beach placed for your whim. Every few kilometers, there is a sitting area made up of stones at the beach. It is the perfect place to be closer to the water and enjoy the sea breeze, waves and the overall peace with a cup of tea and biscuits. That's how we roll.
Other special info :
Since the place is a back-water mangrove forest, expect a bit of humidity all around the year. It's pleasant when it gets windy.
Rating : 4.5/5
